Join us at one of Oakland's newest park, Union Point Park, for our weekly East Bay Dads Playgroup.

Union Point has a great play structure, grills, bountiful parking and it's right on the water.

Due to a HIGH fire danger and a possibility that Joaquin Miller Park will be closed on Monday, the location for the EBD Annual Labor Day Picnic has been changed to Moraga Commons in Moraga.

Yes.... it's slightly self serving since I live down the street. BUT, there are multiple play structures, swings for all ages, a sand volleyball court (without May-Traenor and Walsh), a 9-hole disc golf course, bocce ball courts (Luke you packin' the bocce again?), grills, it's alcohol friendly and there's a water feature which I think has been turned on recently.

... and a skate park for your the older kids.

The Little Farm at Tilden Park in Berkeley

Join us for a morning of feeding the cows, goats, pigs and chickens at The Little Farm at Tilden Park (bring your own celery). This will be immediately followed by feeding ourselves - check the Discussion Forum to see who's bring what for da grilling.

There are beautiful views of Mt. Tamalpais, the Marin shoreline, and San Pablo Bay with its sailboat and shipping traffic.

Moraga Commons

A great park with two play structures, a grassy area, a water feature (currently under construction), lots of shade, a discgolf course, horseshoes, bocce ball (bring your own horseshoes and bocce balls) and bbq grills-- and beer/wine is allowed.  Standard EBD Grilling procedures in place -- bring your own grillables and something snacky to share.

We'll be at the upper playground / picninc area.

Dracena Quarry Park in Piedmont.
130 Dracena Ave. Between Blair Ave & Park Way This park is a hidden gem, with a fabulous kids play area that was
completely revamped a few years back. The entire park actually consists of
two separate levels connected with a series of shady, wooded pathways on
eight acres of land. The kids play structure is in the lower park in an abandoned rock quarry,
with a curving path wrapping around the lawn along the base of the steeply
excavated hills.
