Friday night curling (downtown Oakland)

Hey all, anyone interested in trying curling?  Either with kids or as a dads-night-out activity?  We're welcoming families to our Friday night ice, and would love to welcome a few more.

A very small Learn to Curl Clinic is being hosted tonight at the Oakland Ice Center: 8-11pm, $20 including pizza.  I'll try posting as an event and pasting below...

If this is something worth organizing as a Dad-centric event, happy to do so -- just message me, or email at learntocurl-oakland@bayareacurling.com

Ever wanted to try curling? You know: that funny Olympic sport in which players throw granite rocks across ice, sweep like crazy and yell "hurry hard!"

Come join us Friday night: Learn-to-Curl clinic -- 3/18, 8:00-11:00pm
-- Oakland Ice Center (heart of the uptown district, around the corner from the Fox Theater and 1/2 block from the 19th St. BART station)
-- $20 includes pizza

-- Register beforehand: http://bayareacurling.com/intro-to-curling

Anyone of any age or physical ability can play. Kids and families often have a great time, and big kids can appreciate the #1 rule in curling: winner buys beer.

In 2 hours we'll teach you how to:
- "deliver" a rock
- sweep
- understand basic strategy
- and play a game!
