Jul 29 - Little Farm & Jewel Lake

Based on this morning, I think it's still too cool for the splash park. The sun just isn't burning through the overcast layer fast enough, especially for the 10-12 morning session. It'll warm up eventually.

In the meantime, let's try something else new for Fridays -- a short hike!

We'll meet at 10am at the Little Farm and feed the animals for a short while. Bring lettuce or celery.

At around 10:30am, we'll head off for a hike around Jewel Lake. It's a short 0.9 mile "gentle loop". Strollers can go on the first half (which is a dirt fire road), but not on the second half (which is a trail). Babies in carriers, toddlers in backpacks, and older kids should be fine. Strollers could go out halfway and go back the same way. Benjamin usually gets tired at some point and I have to carry him for a while, but I'm used to it. Expect something similar if your kid is about the same age.

If you come late, it shouldn't be too hard to catch up to us on the loop. We'll probably be going pretty slow.

Little Farm is at the northern end of Tilden Regional Park. Go to Canon Dr & Wildcat Canyon Rd, then head into the park down Canon Dr, following the signs to Little Farm (you'll turn left at the end of Canon Dr, then follow that road to the parking lot at the end).
