Hello, Each year for the last several years, our family along with the Silicon Valley Dads group has made a trip to SF on MLK, Jr. day. While Silicon Valley Dads is a group of stay-at-home-dads, all of the group's activities, including the MLK, Jr. day trip are open to anyone who is a parent and their child(ren). What follows is information about this year's trip to SF. I know this notice is late, but... ...Complete information about the 11th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day trip is now available online. This is a trip where families from San Francisco, East Bay, and ourselves meet up at Yerba Buena Park (4th & Mission). For the Silicon Valley dads, we go up on CalTrain #237 which departs San Jose at 9:40 (though anybody who actually likes the drive to San Francisco is welcome to do so). After some play time at the Yerba Buena Gardens playground, we'll head across the street to SF MOMA. This year, at 1:00 and 2:00, the Northern California MLK, Jr. association will be rebroadcasting one of Dr. King's speeches at the MLK, Jr. Memorial, and we'll head over to the memorial to see the speech for the 1:00 or 2:00 broadcast. Please feel free to forward this to all of the parents you know in the Santa Clara valley, SF and East Bay areas. If you know anybody else who would like to join us, please forward this info to them as well!
Contact me for any questions. Information on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day trip may be found at: Should anyone have any questions, please give me a yell! -- Kindest Regards, Ken Sean's Dad Mobile: 408-234-8625 P.S. For those interested in taking the Freedom Train from points south of SF, please visit: Please also note that in years past this has sometimes been a standing room only train, and may not be suitable for preschool and younger aged children. |
