All:

Our family has been using a great nanny for our 2 1/2 year old daughter for 4 full days a week.  We share her with another family.  Unfortunately I got laid off last month so we have had to cut back to 3 days for our daughter, which may become 2 days a week soon if I don't land another job soon.  The other family we share the current nanny with at this point would probably rather kick us to the curb and find another family to split the share with them on a full-time basis (the nanny charges $10 each for the share family).

So, we have 2 options to consider.  Lose our current situation and hopefully find a good nanny (I prefer a share situation) that would be okay with 2-3 days of care a week, or maybe find a full-time family with young kids (twins are fine in this scenario) that needs a nanny (would use ours, we highly recommend her and don't want to lose her) that would be okay with a share with us for 2 or 3 days a week.

I would love to hear from anyone who thinks these possibilities would work for them. MH
