Supporting a Friend of the EBD

From EBD friend and intrepid reporter Dana Young (She brought us beer on a Monday a while back):

Hi,

My business partner and I recently joined the team of a small start up and I am beyond thrilled to tell you all about the project.   (I am still doing loads of consulting as well with some great national non profits).  My quick blurb is below ... and if you peruse the site (or have seen recent CNN, Chronicle coverage), you'll also catch three familiar little ladies ... feel free to pass this along, call me with questions, etc.  My hope is that everyone will be as excited as I am to buy a One World Futbol  and tell others the good news about this great company.  (btw. i just got a replacement ball as my original ball took a 1550 foot fall over the cliffs at Bryce Point in Utah -- I am 100% certain the ball survived ... but who knows how long it will be before someone finds it in the bizillions of hoo doos down there).

Love to all, Dana
Mom to Maile, Ke'ale and Makana

One World Futbol:  Ultra-Durable, All-Terrain Soccer Ball, Sting and the Lion King

The 2010 World Cup has once again demonstrated that soccer is truly the world's game - a world that One World Futbol Project is helping to make better, one ball at a time.  One World Futbol Project (OWFP), a socially-responsible business, is making it possible for anyone, anywhere to play soccer with a ball that matches the endurance of the sport.  Through the financial backing and support of world-renowned entertainer Sting, OWFP has created the world's most durable soccer ball, one that never deflates, will play even when punctured, and can be played in the harshest of environments.  It even survived a round in the lion's pen at the Johannesburg Zoo. (Yes, we have photos and video to prove it ... check out our facebook page and Triton the lion).

The ultra-durable, all-terrain One World Futbol is sold online through a "Buy One Give One" model at oneworldfutbol.com.  For every ball purchased, One World Futbol Project is committed to donating a second ball to a non-governmental organization working with people who live in harsh environments around the world, including refugee camps, UN hot spots, conflict zones, inner cities and poor communities worldwide.

It’s easy to be a part of the One World Futbol Project and help enable children and young people anywhere, in any community, to enjoy and play the game of soccer.

To lend a hand, you can:

FYI --  Note on the image of Triton: He's the Lion King of the Johannesburg Zoo, with one of our One World Futbols. He LOVED it. The Zoo director told us that every time in the past they’d given him a ball, he had it in shreds within two minutes. He played with our ball for 25 minutes and exhausted himself. The director and his staff were astonished. And, yes, the ball was still playable afterwards. A few tooth marks, to be sure, but still quite playable.
