A friend of mine asked me to throw this opportunity out to the EBD's:

"Pat DiNizio, lead singer of the Smithereens is returning to California next February for more living room concerts. Having organized one of these last year, I can say it's worth the cost ($520). You get a nearly 2.5 hour show of Smithereens hits, requests and stories. He'll take the time to talk to everyone and invite you up to sing with him. Available dates are Feb 3, 7 (super bowl sunday) and 8. If interested and in possession of a living room that can be used one of these days (in the evening), you'll need to pay him soon. Please write Brandon DeFrancisci, defran@berkeley.edu if interested."

If doesn't necessarily have to be your living room if you have access to some other space.

Doing the quick math -- you'd need 25 people paying $20 each to hit $500. Or.... 20 people and $35 each.

I know that people have tired to make their event in to a benefit of some sort.
