The Tilden Steam Train will be open all next week, presumably due to spring break. It's usually only open on the weekends. Was thinking it would be cool to hit it up for Monday's activity. There are picnic sites right across the street, and I'm pretty sure they have grills. | ||

Montclair Park (Oakland) - Montclair park has a fenced-in totlot as well as a bigger playground for bigger kids, plus grass to run on, fake horses to sit on, geese to get bitten by, and a small lake to fall into. Montclair park is between Moraga Ave and Mountain Blvd, just north of "downtown" Montclair. Here is a MAP

My wife is a member of Mt. Diablo Mother's Club and she is the volunteer Publicity Coordinator for an upcoming event that I thought I would mention here. 2nd Annual Summer Programs Expo A FREE family friendly event featuring organizations that offer summer programs for children age 6 months- 14 years Walnut Avenue Methodist Church 260 Walnut Avenue in Walnut Creek There will be Free demonstrations: 10 am: Andrea's Musical Adventures 10:30am: Tiny Thespians & PInt Size Players with Marcia Elliot 11 am: Bay Mountain Martial Arts Demo Team Along with additional activities for the kids including FREE pony rides and an obstacle course This sounds like it is shaping up to be a great event...hope you can make it!! This park rocks! There is a great toddler area with plenty of stuff to climb on and an off leash dog park right next to the play area. There was also plenty of Nice things to look at the last time we went so that's always a bonus. They also have grills for our barbecuing pleasure. Here is a MAP | ||

We are a group of dads with children ages 0-4 years old who still take an afternoon nap. Play 11-12pm Lunch 12-12:30pm Go home for lunch. We will have a sign with East Bay Dads near the picnic table. | ||

It's the playground that's behind the dog run and basketball court that are under the 24 freeway at Claremont. Note that Hardy dead-ends and does NOT intersect with Claremont. There is plenty of parking on Claremont just before Hudson street. There are no grills but tons of restaurants nearby that sell beer such as Ben & Nicks Pub, Lanesplitters, Zachary's Pizza and Cactus (Mexican). Here is a MAP

It's a nice park with several large play structures, a big grass area for running around, and also a paved trail that circles the grass for kids on bikes. (fyi, it was dubbed "Hot Moms Park" by a wife of one of the East Bay Dads, so please don't blame us dads for the moniker.) There are grills for barbecuing. Here is a MAP
