Hello,
I am sponsoring a playdate for parents’ w/kids on Wednesday May 13th. I am extending an invitation to the group for those who wish to attend. Please RSVP with name, # of children, and contact information as soon as possible. We will meet in front of Children’s Fairyland at 11:00 am. We must enter together and we will have a party area reserved. There will be a brief presentation about education funding, (10-15 minutes) and you are free to play all day. If you are not familiar with Childrens Fairyland, please view their web site www.fairyland.org. It is a fantastic place for kids and was a model for Disneyland.

There are two playgrounds at this park. The bigger one is on the northern end of the park past the pool. The BBQ grills are at the opposite side of the park near a smaller playground. We'll meet at the big playground and move to the other side of the park when we want to get our grill on. A big park with a playground, just a short walk from Crown Beach (where we could go if it ends up being hot). Directions: Take the Webster Tube (at the south end of Webster in downtown Oakland) and stay to the left to get onto Constitution Way. Just before Constitution curves left into Lincoln Way, turn right onto 8th St. Continue on 8th past Central; the park will be on your right. New Zealander pub across the street, great burgers featuring one with a slice of pineapple and over-easy egg. | ||

Codornices Park is in the North Berkeley hills. There's a nice playground, some nice grass, pretty trees, a dank echoey tunnel, and an epic concrete slide for the braver kids (and dads). To get to Codornices, take your favorite route to the north side of the Berkeley campus. Head North on Euclid. Go up Euclid until you get to where the Rose Garden is on your left and Cordinices park is on your right. We'll meet at the playground, which is in a valley at the northern end of the park, where the path from the sidewalk goes DOWN to the playground. | ||
